Electrical current can be used to ionize metal making it possible for Electro to levitate large metallic masses and direct them through the air.

A lineman for New York's largest power company, Maxwell Dillon was struck by a bolt of lightening while holding electrical lines still connected to their spool. By a strange chance of fate, Dillon survived and was physically altered to where he was not only immune to the effects of electricity, but could control it as if it were a part of his body. Never one for much imagination or ethics Dillon decided to use his new-found abilities as the deadly criminal called Electro.
