| Origin | |
| Dr. Gregor Shapanka
attempted to rob a vault at Stark International in order to fund his private
research in immortality. Although not imprisoned he was fired
and potted his revenge. Using his expertise in cryogenics he designed a suit which could generate sub-degree temperatures. Holding employees of Stark International hostage he battled Iron Man as Jack Frost. After escaping prison Shapanka once again attacked Stark International with a new and improved battle-suit - calling himself Blizzard. Attacking Stark's financial interest repeatedly along with Backlash and the Melter; Blizzard was always defeated by Iron Man. For a short period of time Shapanka actually gained the superhuman power to generate sub-degree temperatures and he lived as a hermit once again using the moniker of Jack Frost. Shapanka lost his superhuman abilities soon after a defeat by the Hulk and reassumed the name Blizzard. It was during an altercation with an Iron Man from the future that Blizzard met his eternal reward. Little is known of the origin of the second man to be known as the Blizzard. He was originally hired by the corrupt industrialist Justin Hammer to join with other criminals Backlash and Beetle to eliminate another criminal known as Force, who had left Hammer's employ. The villains were thwarted by Iron Man. He had apparently mended his ways after a stint in prison, but has since reverted to criminality as the Blizzard. |
