| Creator | |
| Steve Englehart & Walt Simonson | |
| Origin | |
| A prestigious
member of the Gotham City business community, Dr. Sartorius was coaxed
into investing his life savings into a private nuclear power plant being
constructed at sea beyond the international sea border. Mounting expenses
forced the builders to cut corners on construction and when Sartorius was
inspecting his investment he noticed the reactor had a crack. Taking cover behind sandbags the reactor exploded. The radiation converted the silicon into phosphorus as it embedded into Sartorius' body. His body turned to living phosphorus and his mind unhinged he began a campaign of terror against Gotham City as the deadly burning, Dr. Phosphorus. |
