Born into poverty to a single mother who made her living as a stripper, Veronica Cale was a brilliant child with few opportunities. When her mother contracted cancer, Cale blackmailed her biological father to pay the medical bills. After her mother's death Cale attended Harvard earning three PhDs by the age of twenty-two. Working hard Cale earned success, wealth, fame and respect - which made it all the more painful when she lost the spotlight to Wonder Woman. Determined to expose the Princess of Themyscira as a pampered fraud, Dr. Cale works behind the scenes in her efforts to destroy the reputation of Wonder Woman.
