| Origin | ||
| As penance for being
enslaved by Hercules, the Amazons were commanded by the goddess Aphrodite to
always wear the metal bands used to chain them into servitude. Forging
new bracelets from the mystical metal Amazonium, the Amazons found a shield
which could deflect any projectile. When Princess Diana earned the title of Wonder Woman she was bequeathed a special pair of bracelets forged from shards of the Aegis, the shield of Zeus. |
