Origin

On the eve of America's entry into World War II, the patriotic hero Uncle Sam discovered a dimension known as Earth-X were the Axis powers were defeating the forces of freedom and liberty. Recruiting a team of heroes to accompany him Uncle Sam transported to the Pacific - repelling the Japanese before they could attack Pearl Harbor.

Besides Uncle Sam, apparently all of the initial team were killed in combat, but he would return with volunteers to this twisted dimension again and again to battle fascism as the Freedom Fighters.
