Origin

After the event which left to the disassembling of the Avengers, the team eventually reconstituted after the escape of several super-powered criminals from Blackgate Prison.

When Captain America attempted to recruit Daredevil to help with a mission in Japan, the blind ninja was unavailable, but instead recommend his ally Echo. To mask her identity and gender, Echo donned the uniform of Ronin.

When Hawkeye returned after his apparent death, Echo retired her identity as Ronin, passing her uniform to the Avenging Archer, who would utilize his equally formidable skills as a swordsman becoming for a time Ronin.

Some time later the former Soviet-era hero Red Guardian would don a uniform like Ronin's, assuming the identity to bring to justice the Black Widow for her crimes as a Soviet spy.

Tracking the ancient Deathwalkers, the vampire-hunting detective Blade returned to New York. In need of an identity to disguise himself from his enemies he donned a hasty costume found at a superhero costume boutique, becoming the gaudy "Spider Hero." In need of a less conspicuous identity, but desiring to keep his presence in the city a secret from his prey, Blade assumed the identity of Ronin.
