Walker was the all-American teen. She became associated with
super-heroes through her first husband who worked as the military liaison
of the Brand Corporation and the subsequent friendship of Dr. Henry McCoy
(Beast). It was Walker's relationship with Beast that lead to her
accompanying the
Avengers
on her first mission as Hellcat. Walker was offered membership, but she declined and instead became a reserve member while training with the Titan priestess Moondragon. Later joining the Defenders she met and married Daimon Hellstrom (Son of Satan. Hellstrom's codename was more literal than she realized, and in time his demonic nature overwhelmed his humanity, driving Walker insane and resulting in her suicide. With the help of the Thunderbolts, under the leadership of a deceived Hawkeye, Hellstrom was able to have his late wife rescued from the pits of Hell. Putting the pieces of her life back together, Walker returned to her home town, were she discovered she had gained new mystical powers derived from her time spent in Hell, once again becoming the hero Hellcat. |
