Notes: Penetra-vision is capable of seeing through any substance, including lead, detect objects at both macroscopic and microscopic distances, and is accurate enough to detect an irregular heartbeat or analyze a fingerprint.  Flash-Vision burns blue and is two-times hotter than the heat vision of Superman. Abilities can only be used one at a time, with the exception of penetra and flash vision.

Pre Zero-Hour: Traveling alone through space Jo Nah was swallowed by an space whale.  His plight was spotted by a Galactic Patrol Cruiser which sliced the creature open with a laser.   Nah escaped, but his body was charged by with alien radiation.  He discovered he could see through anything, even lead.  He coined this ability penetra-vision.

Using his new-found ability on behalf of the law, he later discovered other amazing physical feats he could perform, but only one at a time.  In time he would use his powers to gain membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes, as Ultra Boy.

Post Zero-Hour: Jo Nah was a member of one of many street gangs on Rimbor, a planet notorious for neglecting its children.  Swallowed by a scavenging space whale, when Nah emerged he discovered he had gained amazing abilities, but could only use one power at a time.

Leaving the neglect of his planet behind, Nah joined the super-powered mercenary WorkForce.   Encountering the Legion, it became obvious their heroism was preferable to the WorkForce's self-interest.  Defecting, his abilities and experience made were a valuable asset, as Ultra Boy.
