Note: The imprisonment within the Main Power Battery of Parallax - a yellow being composed of pure fear - created an impurity making Green Lantern Rings incapable of manipulating objects colored yellow, and the champions of the Guardians of the Universe, the Green Lanterns, susceptible to the only thing that could break their will - fear.
The Power Ring is limited to a 24 hour charge and must be recharged in the Power Battery on a daily basis.

Weaponers of Qward
His first assignment was to delay the destruction of Krypton to allow the inhabitants to discover their impending doom and abandon the planet. His mission ultimately failed, but his method of extracting radiation from a planet would save others in the future.
Tomar-Re died after the battle against the Weaponers of Qward during the Crisis On Infinite Earths. In his dying with he passed his Power Ring onto Hal Jordan's (Green Lantern II) replacement John Stewart (Green Lantern III), returning his friend to his status as one of Earth's Green Lanterns.
Tomar-Re was put to rest in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa as one of it greatest members.
