on the planet Korbal with her two brothers Garth and Mekt (Lightning
Lord), Ayla
Ranzz expected to die when Lightning Beasts attacked. Instead the
siblings acquired the ability to discharge bio-electric blast. She was separated from her twin brother Garth (Lightning Lad/Live Wire) when he traveled to Earth and co-founded the Legion of Super-Heroes. When Lightning Lad was apparently killed, Ayla was compelled to impersonate him to keep his memory alive. When she was exposed as an imposter, the Legion decided to extend her membership given the circumstances, as Lightning Lass. |
