| Origin | |
| The
young Dick Grayson was a carefree member of the family of trapeze artists
the Flying Graysons. That all ended when the mobster Boss Zucco
caused the youth's parents, John and Mary Grayson, to plunge to their
deaths by weakening the trapeze ropes with acid after the circus owner
would not pay protection money. Grayson overheard Zucco's thugs threatening the circus owner Mr. Haly that if he did not pay then more such "accidents" would occur. Prevented by the Batman from contacting a police department, corrupt by mob influence, Grayson took an oath to help him stop Zucco's gang. Batman entrusted Grayson with his secret identity and trained him with the skills necessary to take down the crime boss. After bringing Zucco and his men to justice, the young Grayson was always by Batman's side as Robin the Boy Wonder. |
